Kittens cannot yet evaluate situations properly. They still have to learn what constitutes a threat and what not. So they get excited easily and puff their fur up at any unanticipated move or noise. Sander can puff up and deflate just from being jumped by Mrs. Peel or a shift in light or a motion in one of the bushes.

So today’s question is: What made Sander puff up his fur?

a) He was literally floored by Islay who ran into and over him from behind.

b) When playing tag, Mrs. Peel not only chased him but overtook him with such speed that he was left standing looking perplexed.

c) Marvi jumped full force onto the barbecue and the metal cover responed with a loud bang.

d) He was chasing the stick I moved when Isfrid muscled in and took over.

Kätzchen müssen noch lernen, Situationen richtig einzuschätzen. Sie können noch nicht beurteilen, was eine echte Bedrohung darstellt und was nicht. Bei unvorhergesehenen Bewegungen oder Geräuschen regen sie sich schnell auf und die Haare stehen ihnen zu Berge. Sander kann sein Fell in null Komma nix aufplustern und wieder zusammenfallen lassen. Da reicht ein Angriff von Mrs. Peel, eine plötzliche Lichtveränderung oder ein Rascheln in den Büschen.

Die Frage von heute lautet: Warum hat Sander sein Fell aufgestellt?

a) Islay kam von hinten und hat ihn im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes über den Haufen gerannt.

b) Beim Fangenspielen hat Mrs. Peel ihn nicht nur erwischt, sondern mit so einer Geschwindigkeit überholt, dass er verblüfft das Nachsehen hatte.

c) Marvi ist mit so viel Wucht auf den Grill gesprungen, dass die Metallabdeckung mit einem lauten Knall nachgab.

d) Er lief hinter einem von mir gewegten Stock her, als ihn Isfrid unsanft beiseite drängte und ihrerseits die Jagd aufnahm.
