The admirals in the title have of course nothing to do with the navy but are red admirals of the insect variety or Vanessa atalanta in latin. The rather inconspicious blossoms of the ivy have proven to be real butterfly magnets and I could take some really nice pictures. At times there were so many nectar drinkers around that I was not able to get them all onto one photograph. So I have a little quiz for you today: How many red admirals are hidden in the above picture?
PS: And what do the cats do? As long as the butterflies are not moving in front of their faces – nothing!

Bei den im Titel erwähnten Admirälen handelt es sich natürlich nicht um Seebefehlshaber, sondern um die Schmetterlinge, deren lateinischer Name übrigens Vanessa atalanta ist – auch schön, nicht? Das recht uneinscheinbar blühende Efeu (siehe letzte Woche) entpuppt sich zur Zeit als wahrer Faltermagnet. Ich konnte wunderbare Bilder machen, aber es bedienten sich teilweise so viele Nektarsauger auf einmal, dass ich nicht alle auf ein Foto bannen konnte. Daher meine Frage zum Titel-Suchbild: Wie viele Admiräle sind dort insgesamt zu sehen?
