Unfortunately the English version of the well-known proverb „When the cat’s away, the mice will play.“ does not mention tables like the German version where the „mice are dancing on the table“. In our case, it’s the cat that dances – well, sort of because even well-known household items attract new attention when they are not standing at their usual spots. Case in point the table that lives in the sheltered area of our terrace all year round. When we moved that table to the side for our May cleaning spree every cat in the back garden wanted to take a closer look. As I was actually cleaning the furniture my back was turned on the action so I could only catch some of them in the act.

Wenn die Katze aus dem Haus ist, tanzt sie draußen auf dem Tisch! Selbst altbekannte Einrichtungsgegenstände gewinnen eine ganz neue Attraktivität, wenn sie nicht am gewohnnten Platz stehen. Siehe der Tisch, der das ganze Jahr im geschützten Bereich unserer Terrasse verbringt. Kaum wurde er bei unserer Mai-Reinigung zur Seite geschoben, musste ihn jede Katze im hinteren Garten sofort ausprobieren. Da ich mit der Säuberung der Möbel beschäftigt war, fand dies teilweise hinter meinem Rücken statt, so dass ich nicht jeden dabei in flagranti mit der Kamera erwischen konnte.
Allen Arbeitsbienen, die trotz Brückentag fleißig sind, ein ganz besonders schönes Wochenende!
