Countdown to Christmas – Day 13 Welcome to the second part of June! What you see above is a polyresin cat my friend Kasia gave me for my birthday last year – and it is a scarecrow. Not that it would scare our resident crows Odin and Freya but I had the hope that it would scare the little birds because Maxine was feeling so well that she turned into a predator again – instead of a sleepy grandma. To my horror, years of inactivity had lured the birds into a false sense of security and they disregarded her completely resulting in several blood baths behind the flower pots. I immediately removed all ground feeders and had the idea to place the very life-like polyresin cat on the lawn. Not only I thought it was looking just like a real cat, Mira nearly freaked and I had to hide the statue asap before she went completely bananas. Apart from that it was beginning to get warmer. ________________ Was ihr oben seht ist eine lebensgroße Polyresin-Katze, die mir meine Freunin Kasia letztes Jahr zum Geburtstag geschenkt hat – und es ist eine Vogelscheuche. Maxine ging es nämlich so viel besser, dass sie wieder das Raubtier in sich entdeckte. Von wegen ständig schlafende Oma! Zu meinem Entsetzen hatte ihre jahrelange Inaktivität die Vögel total unvorsicht werden lassen und sie hüpften quasi auf ihrer Nase herum. Als Ergebnis lagen die Hinterlassenschaften diverser blutiger Gemetzel hinter den Blumentöpfen. Ich habe natürlich sofort alle Futterstellen am Boden weggeräumt und hatte dann die Idee, die wirklich sehr lebensechte Polyresin-Katze zur Abschreckung auf den Rasen zu legen. Nicht nur ich fand, dass sie wie eine echte Katze aussah. Mira ist fast durchgedreht und ich musste die Figur sofort wegräumen, sonst hätte sie eine Panikattacke bekommen.
